BATTLE ROLEPLAY:

“Oh God, it looks like a child.” Mika says in the static intercom. Desmond *feels* her contrite pity at the visage while his stomach lurches at the sight of the 2000ft monstrosity that one of its siblings might have taken his own. It 's revolting. All of it. This is Mika first real battle and he can’t say shit cause *she* is holding them stable and they *both* know.

[Desmond ANXIOUS trait flares and he decides to ATK] 

[Mika decides to go for it despite wanting to study it  a bit more. This is a level 1 threat meant to ease them both and she is not gonna stomp her foot for nothing. Especially when it will land on their own.]

The fiery KIRIN [25 HP/2ATK/4SPC] seems to be in so much pain that at the slight move of GAMBIT [20HP/3ATK/NULL] it roars croakedly and lands a perfect paw over the pit.

“FUCK” She screams at the violence of the move that no matrix simulator was ever able to reproduce. This isn’t a machine with numbers trying to make Mika produce better numbers in return. This is a fucken alien eldritch shit that wants to stay alive at any cost. And it *hurts*.

[Mika DOMINEERING+REBELLIOUS traits flares and she ATKs] 

With her ears ringing she activates GAMBIT intelligence to help her with a single fleeting thought. She can feel Desmond's surprise but GAMBIT OS is suited exactly for this: It knows that they weren't viable for each other at all, just the higher scoring soldier disponible in a pathetic fleet. *Honor your fucken name* she thinks angrily.

[GAMBIT OS decides to make Mika the domineering Pilot. Desmond will suffer slightly despersonalization after this battle]

Desmond feels warm and ready. His anxiety is a laughable memory at the awareness of the power he is circulating through. Mika feels pleased at his echoing behaviour. A part of his mind is screaming that this is not him. But he can’t be him right now. He has to be *her*.

“Oh it's mad now.” They laugh at the KIRIN flaring back.

The KIRIN pushes the MECHA almost down but Mika is secure and so is Desmond and they secure themselves against the Yokai and take a bit of damage.

[2 ATK/ -2HP/ 12 HP]

The KIRIN hits again, and Desmond is feeling slightly less secure. Something in the cockpit is blaring a yellow light.

[DICE ROLL: 6 - EVEN] [MECHA ATTACKS]

Mika's ego is bruised but she is too busy activating every single attack power GAMBIT has to ponder too much over it.

[GAMBIT OS decides to swap the grid parsing to make them more unstable and amplify voltage exceeding]

Desmond doesn’t know why he agreed to this. This is madness. This woman is the worst person in the entire world and she thinks the same of him for some inane reason. And now that damned OS is also against him. He is going to die in this fucken metal coffin. 

Mika snarls at the end of his thought and he feels her take over his very limbic system and lend multiple punches on the KIRIN
